This is one great recipe, fairly easy to put together and a wonderful taste. Never had it at PF Chang's but sure enjoyed it at home. I did follow Williamwhy's suggestion and added a small amount of sesame oil and then marinated the meat in the sauce for 2 hours prior to frying. I think it did help to increase the flavor level. I think next time I'll just pan fry the beef also as deep frying didn't seem to make much differance.
Ingredients:
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 (1-pound) flank steak
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 3 scallions (green parts only), sliced into 1-inch pieces
